Description
This qualification is aimed at individuals working in, or preparing to work in, any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence.
The essential qualification for people working in, or preparing to work in licensed retail, for example in pubs, clubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and off-licences. Sales of alcohol on licensed premises can only be made by, or authorised by, a Personal Licence Holder. All individuals applying to hold a Personal Licence must have first achieved a Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders. The LASER Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders covers all the legal and social responsibilities of a Personal Licence Holder and meets the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. This qualification is available to learners aged 18 years or older. The recommended number of guided learning hours is 8 hours and the total time to achieve the qualification (known as total qualification time – TQT) is 10 hours. Learners are assessed via a multiple-choice question exam paper marked by LASER.
